Technical rider for realisation in May, 2026

Format: 50-minute live performance / lecture-performance
Personnel on site:
1 performer (Mengting Zhuo)
1 lighting designer/operator (Sanli Li)​
1 producer (Burong Zeng)
1 venue technician
Venue setup (Cambridge Junction, DISRUPT Festival – May 2026)
Flat-floor configuration using both the main stage and surrounding floor. Audience seated informally close to the performer (capacity ≈ 100).
One-day get-in and half-day dress rehearsal.
Sound
  • Use existing in-house PA (standard 4-channel mixer).
    1 x dynamic microphone 
    1 x condenser (artist-supplied).
    Basic XLR cabling and venue technician support for controlled feedback tests.

  • Two-hour line check on day of show; venue staff briefed on controlled gain staging and safe decibel limits (max 90dB).
Lighting
  • Use house rig with added focus on several manually positioned spotlights to reveal/hide performer and objects.
  • Requires brief additional rigging/focus time before tech rehearsal.
  • Lighting states alternate between wash, blackout and low-intensity warm/cool tones.
Set & Power
Minimal set of small movable panels and scenic frames (built by Rupert Chow), self-standing and movable by one person.
Two 13A sockets required near performance area.
Access
Relaxed-performance conditions throughout: open-door entry, no strobe, gradual fades, level access for audience and performer.
